I actually liked that stupid movie. And I remember seeing some old black and white episodes of flash Gordon; They were like soap operas with their constant cliff hangers at the end of the show to get you to watch the next episode.
See, now I'm the opposite. I kind of like the old ones - but then again I have a thing for old serials in general. I remember not really liking the 80's movie which is odd becasue it's just the sort of Corman low budget kind of film I usually gravitate too. I remember not liking Flash being a football star, something I translated as "neanderthal, and really wanted the whole thing to be a more serious treatment of the subject matter. Really, I should see it again as an adult. I almost went a few months ago when it was screening in town argocitycomics.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/362/, but the people I was going to go with bailed on me and I just skipped it. I think i might like it better with other people. Some movies are just like that, you don't get it unless you're part of a group.
