As usual, we'll be taking this week off, but we'll still be posting odds and ends throughout the week. Today is a lost strip. I had intended to post this sometime in year three.....then Dick Clarke passed and well...I just couldn't do it.
I do have his autograph and it WAS done after the stroke. When I called up one of my friends to tell him, this was his response. He had a point, but you know, I'm cool with it. It just means I know HE really signed it!
I really prefer to get them in person, but I do also get a lot through the mail. I write a lot of letters (You can see a bunch over on the Blog site). I can see why you'd be wary at a comic con. When you buy off ebay or rom an online seller, you can take a look at that sig, and compare it to other examples around the web, especially if you have good autograph resources available to you. At a con, you really don't have that opportunity to study it. I've got a few sellers I'd trust, like Ken over at Cinema Wasteland, but that's from years of being around.
anyhow, so many of the autos I collect are from people you'd never think of, I spent a year tracking down as many people from Masters of the Universe as I could, not to mention obscure folks like Steve Taylor or Zacherly.
