We drove all over town the last time MLP was in McDonalds happy meals trying to get all the ponies for our girls. They actually ran out and started using the ones from the previous year.
When they had "Batman: Brave and the Bold" toys I didn't drive around looking for anything, but every time I'd be in a McDonald's I'd always ask which toy they had that week. I was after Aquaman, but ended up getting the Firestorm/Solomon Grundy pack which is good in its own way. Besides, who'd think you'd ever see a Happy Meal featuring Firestorm or Solomon Grundy?
I did chase down all the He-Man ones back in 2002. I really liked the scale (in fact, I made more because I like that scale so much)and they were actually more detailed than the original toys. I had that same feeling you did about finding a Firestorm or Solomon Grundy in a Happy Meal about the MOTU line.
