If the congregation is so small that you're showing the slides on a TV (at least that's what I assume the issue is) then you can hand out word sheets. pick three song and make say, twenty copies. At .25 a copy that's five bucks a week. Skip lunch one day (or two days in my case) if you can't figure out how to raise that kind of cash.
Or write the words on large pieces of poster board and have someone hold them up. An average son is ten slides or less. You can get plain white posterboard at Drug Mart for .50. That's less than five dollars a song. Less if you use both sides.
That inside-the-box thinking drives me nuts too. Small Church solutions are very different than big Church ones, but it just never occurs to many small Churches to look for them.
