I'll admit I see some of it, but I really think the "gayness" of NOES2 is overstated. We infer because of context (that the lead actor is gay) and we apply stereotypes that weren't as in force then as they are now. Crossing your legs a certain way is gay. Wearing your hair a certain way is gay. Leather and bondage gear is gay (Leather and bondage gear was all over the place in the 80's especially in Metal and comics. Anyone read X-Men in the 80's?). A scared kid going over to his friend for reassurance instead of his girlfriend....(um, actually that sounds pretty normal to me...)

It's a bit of a peeve of mine. We've turned being gay into a whole lifestyle (as far as I can tell to make it easier to portray on TV, an easier sell) instead of just being about dudes kissing other dudes.

So no I don't think NOES2 is all that more gay than any other 80's films. I just think it's the weakest of all the Nightmare sequels (and I saw Freddy's Dead in the theatre with the lousy 3d!).
