The store is in fact, based on the one we had a membership to when I was growing up. I stopped by the building and took photos, then tried to reconstruct the inside with a digital modle as best I could. The sign and logo is also the best I can do from memory, but looks pretty close to me with the stars and the twilight zone looking letters.
